End of the year lists
The Gospel of the Photographer is listed in Best Books of 2013 as chosen by Jeffrey Ladd on Photo-eye. The book is still available (both through Photo-eye and through my webshop).
Two more books appeared on end-of-the-year lists: the J&L edition of In this Dark Wood in favorite books of 2013 by Jörg Colberg, and One Swimming Pool received a special mention by Federica Chioccetti writing for The Photographers’ Gallery in London.
The Gospel of the Photographer recommended in De Volkskrant
Merel Bem of newspaper De Volkskrant (December 18, 2013) chose The Gospel of the Photographer as one of the books of 2013 that are especially recommended.
Exhibition in Heerlen
My work in the show ‘Eeuwige Jachtvelden’ curated by Maarten Dings for Kunstencentrum Signe in Heerlen, The Netherlands. The text is from De wereld zou meeuw, particularly a section on the boredom of growing up in the surroundings of Heerlen. The show runs from December 13 till January 26. Update on availability of ‘Recounted’
To coincide with the end of Ed Ruscha’s 75th year, Recounted will be taken out of circulation at the end of December. If you want a copy, please order it before that time. Recounted was realized as a part of ABCED, which has since been shown internationally, most recently at Gagosian Gallery, NY and the Museum Brandhorst in Munich, Germany. Recounted also inspired my other Ed Ruscha remake: One Swimming Pool.
Offprint during Paris Photo
Next weekend, from November 14-17, the fourth edition of Offprint will be held during Paris Photo. I won’t be there personally this year, but a selection of my books, including the recent The Gospel of the Photographer and The Kingdom, can be found at the table of Johan Deumens Gallery. Also the new edition of In this Dark Wood can be found at J&L Books.
